BT Explorer Route Changes

Changes to the Explorer routes are coming Monday, 10/6. Explorer Green (GRN) will replace the GLD route. Explorer Blue will service Lucas St. instead of Church St. The Explorer will now have Saturday hours! On Saturday, one bus will service both routes, alternating between GRN and BLU at Uptown Mall. What’s Different?
Explorer Green (GRN) will replace the GLD route on Monday, October 6, 2025. Six new stops along Roanoke St. and Hampton Blvd. will be added.

GRN travels in one direction along Roanoke St. and N. Franklin St, only servicing stops on one side of the street. GRN will also provide service to the Spradlin Farms shopping area. See map for details.

Explorer Gold (GLD) will end service on Friday, October 3, 2025.

Explorer Blue (BLU) will stop servicing stops #2170 North Franklin/Church Northbound and #2171 Church/Brown Eastbound. It will instead service a new stop on Lucas St.

Starting Saturday, October 11, 2025, the Explorer will add Saturday service hours.

Why are changes happening?
GRN provides service further along Roanoke St., providing hourly service to many common deviation locations.

Construction on Church St. is common and has created frequent detours. Traveling along Lucas St. allows for more consistent service.

Saturday Service
Based on customer feedback, The Explorer will now have Saturday hours! On Saturday, one bus will service both routes, alternating between GRN and BLU at Uptown Mall.

On Saturdays, each route will be serviced every 2 hours. Service will begin at 10 AM at the Park & Ride, following the GRN route first.
