Blacksburg Police Launch “Serve at Home”
The Blacksburg Police Department has one message for potential recruits, “Serve at Home.” This month, the police department launched its Serve at Home campaign in an effort to reach individuals who want to make a difference in the Blacksburg community.
“Our goal is to find and recruit the very finest this country has to offer and invite them to compete to join our family,” said Chief Anthony Wilson. “Serve at Home reflects the incredibly patriotic job of a Blacksburg Police Officer, and emphasizes the notion that safe communities are what bring us one step closer to being a safer nation.”
Providing police services requires the ability to constantly evolve, be tolerant while remaining vigilant, and to be kind and compassionate while remaining tactically sharp and proficient.
The Blacksburg Police Department is looking for individuals who want to be a part of this thriving, energetic environment, and uphold the core values of Service, Integrity, and Respect.
Applications for Police Office I positions are due by 5 p.m. on March 2. For more information about the department, job openings and the Serve at Home campaign, visit www.blacksburg.gov/serveathome
