Blacksburg Adopts Limited Emergency Ordinance
On May 11th, Blacksburg Town Council adopted a limited emergency ordinance, Ordinance 1966, that only applies to Blacksburg Transit operations. It provides for fare free operation and requires riders to continue wearing masks unless CDC guidance changes. This ordinance will be in effect for 90 days.
Ordinance 1956, which has a broader scope, expires on May 16th. Ordinance 1956 continued the limitations on the number of persons in restaurants and at gatherings, as well as face mask requirements, which began last fall. After this ordinance expires the Town will follow applicable state requirements and CDC guidance regarding COVID-19.
