Ballard, Alma Ball

Alma Louise “Lou” Ballard, age 81 passed away on Thursday, November 6, 2025, at Bluestone Health and Rehabilitation in Bluefield, WV. Born May 11, 1944, in Bozoo, WV, she was the daughter of the late Allan Ball and Diana Brookman Ball.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Lindside United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Ballard; brothers, Paul, Dave, Jack, Lee, Doug, Bill, Herman “Monk” and Carl “Bus” Ball; and sisters, Myrtle, Mary, Betty, and Shirley.

Survivors include her daughter, Donna Lawhorn and husband Dr. Zane Lawhorn of Princeton, WV; grandchildren, Mitchell Lawhorn and wife Melish, and Megan Phillips and husband Aaron; five great grandchildren; and sister, Ethel of Albuquerque, NM.

Private graveside services for the family will be held on Sunday, November 9, 2025, at the Peterstown Cemetery in Rich Creek, VA with Pastor James Pierson officiating.
