Louise loved God, her family and her community. She was a long time active member of Main Street Baptist Church, and employed at Leggett for many years. She was very involved in the Christiansburg Recreation Department Senior Athletes Program. She was a familiar competitor in area races, sometimes running with her granddaughters. Her collection of gold medals grew as she ran in National Senior Olympic Games across the country. Her race times in the 1995 Games are still ranked in the top 10 of all time.
Over the years Louise baked hundreds of pies to share with family, friends, and neighbors. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Her legacy will be her smile, her “never quit” attitude, her kindness, and the lessons of love that she instilled in her grandchildren.
