Accident on I-81 leaves 1 dead

Virginia State Police are investigating a fatal three-vehicle crash that occurred Thursday night, northbound on I-81 near exit 109.

Police say the driver of a Chevrolet Silverado, Brandon Lee Williston, was travelling north and rear-ended a tractor trailer. Williston pulled over to the guardrail and got out of the Silverado, and by an oncoming car.

Williston, 30, of Christiansburg was pronounced dead at the scene.
