Parris, Sr., Hearl Hoyt

Hearl Hoyt Parris, Sr., 89, passed away on Sunday, October 11, 2026. He was preceded in death by his parents, Calvin Hearl and Clara Lawson Parris; his beloved wife, Patricia Stone Parris; his grandson, Hearl “Trey” Hoyt Parris, III; his brothers, Glenn and Wyman Parris; and his sister, Linda Butts.

Survivors include his daughters and son-in-law, Becky and Dean Henderson of Blacksburg, and Angie Parris of Roanoke; sons and daughters-in-law, Hoyt, Jr. and Denise Parris of Moneta, Jerry and Kim Parris of Roanoke, and Joey Parris (Cheryl) of Spartanburg, S.C.; 11 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; sisters, Kay Whitlock of Inman, S.C., Betty Darby of Fairmount, S.C., and Cindy Suttles of Inman, S.C.; and many other nieces, nephews, family members and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 15, 2026, at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford with Jim Asberry officiating. Interment will follow at 2 p.m. in the Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery in Dublin. The family will receive friends from 3 until 5 p.m. on Wednesday evening at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or to the American Parkinson Disease Association.
