10/25: A Celebration of the Lost & Found

10/25: A Celebration of the Lost & Found 2Sunday, October 25, 2026 at 7PM — Featuring All-Star House Band: Sammy Shelor, Jesse Smathers, Jonathan Dillon & Bailey Moore with Special Guests: Roger Handy, Bubba Chandler, Junior Sisk, Jody King, Lynwood Lunsford & Ronald Smith

The Floyd Country Store invites you to join us as we pay tribute to our friends and heroes of bluegrass music, The Lost & Found on Sunday, October 25th, 2026 at 7PM.

This evening of celebration will feature an all-star house band: Sammy Shelor, Jesse Smathers (Lonesome River Band), Jonathan Dillon (Red Camel Collective & Junior Sisk Band) and Bailey Moore (Kevin Prater Band)! Plus appearances by special musical guests: Roger Handy, Bubba Chandler, Junior Sisk, Jody King, Lynwood Lunsford and Ronald Smith.

As we all mourn the recent passing of our dear friend and Lost & Found founding member Allen Mills, we also have cause to celebrate as this iconic band has just been inducted into the 2026 Bluegrass Hall of Fame!

Allen Mills served as the group’s steady leader and creative vision for over five decades, during which time, many famous musicians played in the group, including Ronnie Bowman, Junior Sisk, and Steve Thomas. Their original recording of “Love of the Mountains,” written by Mills, has since become a modern bluegrass standard.

“Allen Mills was a remarkable singer and the best emcee/ entertainer to grace Bluegrass stages. The band supported that with excellent musicianship and vocals to create greatness!” Reflects Sammy Shelor. “For 53 years, The Lost and Found represented the Bluegrass industry in a way that few bands have. The combination of Allen Mills, Gene Parker, and Dempsey Young, with guitarists/singers Roger Handy, Bubba Chandler and Steve Wilson the first 15 years of the band’s history, set a standard in performance and entertainment that varied throughout the band’s existence. Gene Parker will always be my favorite banjo player!”

Formed in Virginia in the early 1970s, The Lost & Found became one of bluegrass music’s most respected bands. The original lineup featured Allen Mills, Dempsey Young, Gene Parker, and Roger Handy, and the ensemble’s distinctive sound, strong harmonies, and dedication to traditional bluegrass helped shape the band’s lasting legacy.
