Dobbins, Estelle Shelburne

Estelle Shelburne Dobbins, 87, of Christiansburg, VA went to be with the Lord on Friday, October 2, 2026. She was born on January 19, 1939 in Radford, VA to the late William James “W.J.” Shelburne and Louise Shelton Shelburne. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband of almost 60 years, Ralph L. Dobbins.

Left to cherish her memory are her son, Craig (Lori) Dobbins; grandchildren, Conner, Ella, and Kaitlyn Dobbins, Cody Dunford, and Caleb Brumfield; and a host of other family and friends.

Estelle graduated from Auburn High School, Radford University, and Virginia Tech. She later became a long-time Home Economics Teacher at Auburn High School. She was a member of Christiansburg Presbyterian Church. She loved life and enjoyed her family and friends, especially her former students. She enjoyed her flowers, her animals, cooking and sewing.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Christiansburg Presbyterian Church.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 8, 2026 from 5:00 until 7:00 pm at Horne Funeral Home. A Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, October 9, 2026 at Christiansburg Presbyterian Church. Interment will follow in Sunset Cemetery.
