Hornshuh, James Edward

James Edward Hornshuh, age 80, of Christiansburg died, Thursday, September 24, 2026. He was born in Oregon City, Oregon on January 21, 1946, to the late Merwyn E. and Jeanne Elizabeth Moran Hornshuh.

He was a veteran of the United States Army and served as a Russian Linguist in West Berlin. James graduated Oregon City High School, Oregon State University with a BS, and received his PhD from Michigan State University. He became a chemist and retired from DuPont after many years.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Mary Jean Hornshuh; brother, David L. Hornshuh; and several nieces and nephews.

A private service will be held at a later date.
