Expect Traffic Impacts from MTN-X Gravel Race

Pulaski County Sports & Entertainment officials are reminding residents and motorists that the inaugural Pulaski MTN-X gravel bike race will take place Saturday, September 26, resulting in temporary traffic impacts on roads throughout portions of Pulaski, Wythe, Bland, and Giles counties, as well as the Town of Pulaski.

The event will feature cyclists competing on 30-, 50- and 102-mile courses beginning and ending in downtown Pulaski. Because the courses utilize public roads, motorists should expect temporary delays, rolling traffic restrictions and, in some locations, road closures as cyclists make their way through the counties.

Traffic impacts will occur at different times throughout the day. Residents and motorists are encouraged to plan accordingly, allow additional travel time, use alternate routes when possible, and exercise caution when traveling near cyclists and event personnel.

The listed times are anticipated traffic-impact windows and may change based on the progress of cyclists on the course. Traffic restrictions will be managed by event personnel and public safety officials, and motorists should follow posted signage and directions from law enforcement and course marshals.

Residents living along or near the race route are encouraged to plan trips around the anticipated traffic-impact periods and allow additional time to reach their destinations.

Motorists are reminded to slow down, watch for cyclists, obey all traffic-control devices and follow directions from event personnel when traveling near the race route.
