Allen, Lucas Tanner

With deep sorrow and heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved Lucas Tanner Allen, who left this world unexpectedly on June 27, 2026, at the tender age of 26. Born on August 4, 1999, in Madison, Wisconsin, Lucas graced this world with a spirit that was both vibrant and caring, leaving an indelible mark on everyone he met.

Lucas was the cherished son of Roger and Susan (West) Allen, who nurtured and encouraged his many endeavors. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Marvin West, Oliver Allen and Mary Allen, all of whom he loved dearly. Lucas leaves behind his beloved grandmother Minnie West, his brothers Wade (Hannah) Allen and Harrison (Emily Shore) Allen, his exchange student brother Hashem Aliedeh, his uncle’s David (Melinda) West and Michael (Sheila) West, his Aunt Lisa Brennan, his Aunt Mary E. Allen, his wife Marisa Allen Rodriguez, as well as many cousins. The depth of his love extended beyond family to a wide circle of friends and confidantes who enriched his life.

A proud graduate of Lafollette High School, Lucas was not only an academic achiever but also excelled in sports, participating in lacrosse, football, and track. After completing a year at the University of Wisconsin, his calling led him to serve in the United States Army from 2017 to 2022, reaching the rank of Sergeant. His service as a Military Police Officer, including a deployment to South Korea, was marked by his dedication and honor.

Following his military service, Lucas pursued his passion for public service by joining the City of Anthony Police Department in New Mexico. His commitment to justice and his talent for solving crimes earned him a promotion to Detective. Lucas was especially recognized for his efforts in enforcing OWI laws, a testament to his dedication to the safety of his community.

Lucas was baptized in the Catholic faith at St. Dennis Catholic Church in Madison, and his faith journey continued in El Paso, Texas. His belief in God and his duty to care for others were evident in his everyday actions, whether in his professional role or personal life.

A proud Eagle Scout, Lucas’s early life was filled with memories of scouting adventures and a profound love for the outdoors. His bond with his dogs, especially Diego, was a testament to his caring nature. A lover of camping, hiking, hunting, and fishing, Lucas found peace and joy in nature’s embrace.

Lucas’s greatest strength was his unwavering commitment to his family and friends. His love was wholehearted, and his loyalty was fierce. Yet, he held himself to high standards, often struggling to extend the grace of forgiveness to himself.

As we prepare to bid farewell, a private graveside service was held at Vest Cemetery, where family, friends, and colleagues gathered to remember and celebrate his life. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, a cause close to Lucas’s heart.

The Allen family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the City of Anthony and the City of Las Cruces Police Departments for their unwavering support and compassion. Lucas considered you his family in blue, and your kindness will never be forgotten.

May Lucas’ soul find eternal peace, and may his memory continue to inspire us all to live with love, courage, and dedication.
