Alexander, Charles Arless

Charles Arless “Obbie” Alexander, age 87, passed away on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, at the Lindside Healthcare Center in Lindside, WV. Born October 27, 1938, in Clarney, WV, he was the son of the late John and Thelma Lucille Davis Alexander.

Obbie was a hard worker his whole life and retired from Pulaski Furniture & Ethan Allen after many years of service. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and collecting guns and clocks. He was a beloved father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend who loved his family dearly.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Susie Terry Alexander; sons, James Arless Alexander Sr. and Thomas Alan Alexander; daughter, Ellen “Sis” Dillon; son-in-law, Carl McMahan; and several siblings.

Those left to cherish his memory include his daughter, Debra McMahan of Peterstown, WV; grandchildren, James Arless Alexander Jr. (Katrina), Derick Alexander (Angel), Wayne Dillon, Tiffany McMahan (Thomas), Ashley Sigmon (Matt), and Cheyanne Shawver (Jeffrey); several great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Janice Archie; son-in-law, Timmy Dillon; daughter-in-law, Nedra Alexander; and many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00PM on Friday, August 14, 2026, at the Broyles-Shrewsbury Funeral Home in Peterstown, WV, with Pastor Pete Dunford officiating. Burial will follow at the Bradley Cemetery in Lindside, WV, with Arless Alexander, Jacob Alexander, Derick Alexander, Wayne Dillon, Timmy Dillon, Matt Sigmon, Larry Hatcher, and Thomas Helms serving as pallbearers.

A visitation will be held from 6:00PM until 8:00PM on Thursday, August 13, 2026, at the funeral home.
