July photo club winners

Joyce Sims of Radford won The Radford Photo Club July challenge, flowers, with a photo of Bee Balm growing in her garden. Allison Franklin of Pulaski won the open category with a photo taken at the Hahn Horticulture Garden fish pond at Virginia Tech, taken with a Canon 70D camera with a 70-200 mm lens taken at 146mm F/5 with ISO 200.

Photo outings planned include Smith Creek Farms in August and a sunflower festival in September. Outings in West Virginia were also discussed for August. Details will be posted on The Radford Photo Club Facebook site.

The next meeting will be a picnic on Thursday, August 20, at Bisset Park Shelter number 2 from 6 to 8 p.m. Contact Allison Franklin at mrsjafranklin@hotmail.com to let her know what you will bring. The photo challenge for August is Old Cars.

The club includes photographers of all experience levels from throughout the New River Valley. Club officers are Franklin, Tracy Burlingame of Riner, and Chuck Lynch of Christiansburg.
