Turner, Maude Marie 2Maude Marie Turner, age 78 of Narrows, VA passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 12, 2026 at Heritage Hall in Rich Creek, VA. Born on March 29, 1948 in Suffolk, VA she was the daughter of the late James Edward Turner, II and Virginia Jurene Neville Turner.

Maude worked as a nurse at the Naval Hospital in Portsmouth, VA. She loved helping and being around family and friends. She spent lots of time traveling and spending time with her family. Maude would tell stories about herself as a kid and her many adventures throughout life. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She enjoyed serving her church on different projects and events and volunteering in the genealogy building in Salt Lake City, UT. She was a member of the Daughters of the Confederacy and the Nasmond Indian Tribe.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Robert Lee (Bobby) Turner, James Edward (Buddy) Turner, III, Russell Barnett, John W. (J. C.) Barnett; sisters, Virginia Byrd (Jinks) and Nina Lewis.

Left to cherish her memories are her daughter, Sheila Lynn Hutto and her son, David F. (Davey) Hutto; her sister, Betty Ann; grandchildren, Amber (Dustin) Weatherly, Ashley (Chris) Stump, Britnany (Corey) Collup and Colin T. Hutto; great grandchildren, A.J., Cooper, Pricillia, Ashtyn, Georgia, McKinsey and Elijah; several nieces and nephews and her best friends since high school, Bea Hoglen and Judy Hollingsworth.

In keeping with her wishes Maude has been cremated. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, May 30, 2026 at the Narrows Fire Hall in Narrows, VA. All friends and family are welcome. Private burial will take place on June 15th in Hertford, NC.
