5/15-16: Leaf Giveaway

The Christiansburg Public Works Department will be giving away leaves on Friday, May 15, from Noon to 4:30 p.m. and Saturday, May 16, from 8 a.m. to Noon.
Benefits of having leaves for your garden:
🍂Helps to insulate the soil and plant roots to retain warmth as temperatures drop
🍂 Retains moisture near the soil surface to cut down on watering
🍂 Prevents soil erosion during heavy rain.
🍂 Blocks sunlight from reaching the soil, which keeps weed seeds from germinating
🍂 Provides the organic matter that improves soil texture and drainage
The giveaways will be at the Public Works Complex at 250 Scattergood Dr. NW. There will be signage in the area directing you to the giveaway location.
