Aging in Place Workshop Series
The Town of Blacksburg, in partnership with the New River Valley Aging in Community Leadership Team, is pleased to announce an upcoming Aging in Place workshop series. This 4-session workshop will be held at the Blacksburg Library beginning on March 20. Participants may choose to register for as few as one or for all four sessions. There is no charge for participation; however, participants must register for each session they wish to attend. The workshop is appropriate for anyone who is contemplating how they want to live in their later years – whether you’re years away from retirement, on the cusp of it, or have been retired for years – this workshop is for you!
The sessions within the four-part workshop are built around five key topics, which aging experts have identified as the critical factors that people should consider and plan for to successfully age in place. These include Housing, Health & Wellness, Transportation, Personal Finance, and Connection & Growth.
Each participant will receive a complimentary workbook, developed and recently updated by the New River Valley Aging in Community Leadership Team.
