Hager, Walter Timothy
Walter Timothy Hager, age 68, passed away on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at his home. Born July 11, 1957, in Pearisburg, VA, he was the son of Carol Ann Bowles Hager and Edison Lake Hager of Rich Creek, VA.
Those that knew Tim knew he was a performer. He started playing music in his church at around 10 years old. At age 13, he began playing with different local bands, most notably the Hooker Brothers and Bad Habitz, which was started with his dear friends, Pall Ball Jr., Bobby Carden, S.D. Raines, Jerry Cruise, and Stork Cruise. When he wasn’t playing music, Tim enjoyed camping, fishing, and old cars. Above all, he loved his family dearly and was always there for them whenever they needed him. He will be sorely missed by those who knew him.
In addition to his parents, survivors include his loving wife, Belinda McClaugherty Hager; children, Ann Hager of Outer Banks, NC, Nicole Martin of Narrows, VA, and Westley Martin of Pulaski, VA; grandson, Ethan VanHorn (Brandi); great granddaughter, Ellie Grace VanHorn; brother, Gary Hager (Jackie) of Narrows, VA; nephew, Shane Hager and son Bodi; son-in-law, Greg VanHorn of Panama City, FL; and several extended family members, band members, and special friends that are too many to name.
