Stafford, Scott Lee
Scott Lee Stafford, age 68, born October 10, 1957, in London, England, passed away on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at Heritage Hall in Rich Creek, Virgina.
Scott graduated from Peterstown High School and played baseball at Concord College. He spent most of his professional career as a commercial painter. Scott was an avid sports enthusiast. He lived his sports passion by refereeing Virginia High School League football, playing golf and as a devoted WVU Mountaineer fan always proudly wearing his blue and gold. Scott also loved to fish and was particularly fond of Walker’s Creek that ran through his grandparents’ farm.
Scott is survived and will be missed by his family: son Jason Lee Stafford of Pembroke, VA, the Bradley’s of Peterstown, WV (David, Peggy, Mark and Tammy), the Layne’s of Newport, VA (Miranda and Tom), the Lamb’s of Seaford, VA (Marilyn and Phillip), and the Carr’s of Roanoke, VA (WP and Bobbie).
Scott’s family extends a heartfelt thank you to the Heritage Hall Rich Creek staff for their excellent and unwavering care.
A memorial service is planned and will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers please donate to the Heritage Hall Rich Creek Resident Aide fund. Donations may be submitted via mail to Heritage Hall P.O. Box 327, Rich Creek, VA 24147.

I sure hate to hear of Scott’s passing. I enjoyed our talks before C.H.S. football games concerning the “eers”. We all knew when Scott was Head Official we would always get THE BEST ! To all his family and friends, I pray for GOD’S grace to you all. R.I.P. my great friend and we will see each other again in HEAVEN! GO MOUNTAINEERS !
