Williams, Dreama Booth
Dreama Jeanette Booth Williams, 76, of Pembroke, VA, received her heavenly reward on Friday, November 8, 2025, embraced by her Savior in the comfort of her cherished home.
Born on March 21, 1949, in Bluefield, WV, Dreama was the beloved daughter of Kenneth and Thelma Booth. She became a proud big sister when her brother Kenny was born. She was a cheerleader at Giles High School from which she graduated in 1967. It was there she met the love of her life—Curtis Dale Williams—whom she fondly called “the cutest thing she’d ever seen.” They were married in 1970 at the Church of
God, where she was raised in faith.
They resided in Pearisburg where they worked together to establish Giles Carpet Sales while Curtis worked at Celanese and Dreama worked at Virginia Tech. In 1971, they moved to Pembroke and made their home in Mays Hollow. Their greatest blessings came with the birth of their daughter, Emily Alice, in 1974, and their son, Benton Dale, in 1976.
Throughout her life, Dreama balanced work and family with passion and joy. She served as a clerk at the Giles County Health Department and later became the heart of the family business, managing Giles Carpet Sales full-time. Many who visited the shop found not just flooring but also friendship, laughter, and a listening ear as they shared conversations with Dreama. A devoted member of Pembroke First United Methodist Church, Dreama sang joyfully in the choir, taught the nursery (where she lovingly cared for her grandchildren), led vibrant Vacation Bible Schools, and served faithfully as a United Methodist Woman. She also helped launch the Pembroke Craft Fair through her work with the Pembroke Montage Association. She and Curtis closed Giles Carpet Sales when they retired after almost 50 years in 2019. They settled in their home on Sinking Creek. Her final church family was those of Calvary Christian Church.
Dreama found joy in life’s simple pleasures: sipping coffee with loved ones, stitching beautiful cross-stitch creations, and spending time at Nags Head, NC. She could be found on a 4-wheeler in the mountains at Little Meadows or sitting on the front porch of her camper on the banks of the New River. Family reunions were sacred to her where she could love on those that meant so much to her, as were her birthday trips to the Maple Festival. Each morning began with Bible study and devotions, phones calls to many which were often followed by sending memes and reels to her children and grandchildren. She cherished lunch out with her best friends, Sunday drives and evening dinners with her beloved Curtis, episodes of Gunsmoke, and the pages of a good book or crosswords.
Dreama was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Thelma Booth of Pearisburg, and her niece, Christy Burton. She is survived by her devoted husband of 55 years, Curtis; her devoted daughter Emily and son-in-law Lee, along with grandchildren Grant and Grace of Blacksburg, VA; her loving son Ben and daughter-in-law Kourtney, and grandchildren Anna Kate and Jack of Ripplemead, VA. She is also survived by her dear brother Kenneth Jr. and sister-in-law Sharon of Pearisburg, and her cherished nieces Morgan Jeanette (Daniel Adair) of Pearisburg and Brooke Corkhill (Robert) of Front Royal, VA. Nephew Robert Litzinger (Michelle) of Mount Holly, NC. Dreama leaves behind a large and loving extended family of cousins and friends who were deeply blessed by her sweet spirit.
She was lovingly called Mawmaw by her precious grandchildren who all adored her deeply, a title she wore with pride and joy. Nothing brought her more happiness than being part of her children’s and grandchildren’s lives, watching them grow into the faith-filled individuals she always believed they would become.
Family and friends are invited to gather at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 15th at Calvary Christian Church, 622 Castle Rock Drive, Pembroke. A memorial service will follow at 2:30 p.m., with a time of fellowship, coffee, and desserts immediately after. A guestbook is available to send condolences to the family by visiting www.kendallfuneralhome.com. The staff of Kendall Funeral Home are honored to serve the WIlliams family.
