Verges, Augustine

Augustine Verges, 78, of Christiansburg, VA, transitioned to his heavenly home on November 7, 2025. He was born in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico on June 13th to the late Augustin Verges and Navidad Ramos Verges.

After leaving Puerto Rico, Augie lived in New York City until moving to Virginia with the love of his life Christine. He was a devoted Christian who loved his family.

Augie was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and three brothers. He is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Christine Haddock Verges, five children, four stepchildren, fifteen grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, brother, sister, sisters and brothers in law, several nieces and nephews and dear friends as well as his faithful fur baby Honey.

Services will be at McCoy Funeral home, Blacksburg, VA. The family will receive friends on Wednesday November 12th and Thursday November 13th from 3:00-6:00pm. Funeral services will be on Friday, November 14th at 11:00 am in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel, with the Pastor Tim Hight officiating with interment to follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Christiansburg, VA.
