Hodges, Charlene Turner 2Charlene “Brownie” Hodges, age 66, entered the gates of heaven on Saturday, September 13, 2025. Born June 5, 1959, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Evelyn Amos Turner of Rock Camp, WV.

She attended Calvary Baptist Church of Red Sulphur Springs, WV, where she was a member for over 45 years. She was a member of the Ladies Mission Society and loved bringing children to Vacation Bible School year after year. She was employed by Hometown Restaurant in Peterstown, WV, for many years and later, Brown & Root Industrial Services. She enjoyed sewing, making quilts and barbie clothes, and attending to her beloved chickens. One could often find her sitting on her porch listening to her windchimes. The JOY of her life was being a mother and grandmother.

In addition to her mother and stepfather, she was preceded in death by her late husband, Bobby Joe Hodges of Red Sulphur Springs, WV; brother, Roger Amos of Rock Camp, WV; and sister, Iva June Thompson of Union, WV.

Survivors include her daughters, Tanya Hodges Booth (Greg) of Princeton, WV, and Crystal Hodges Wilson of Greenville, WV; grandchildren, Colton Joe Wilson, McKinley Grace Wilson, and TayLynn Jane Wilson; siblings, Gary Amos Sr. of Rock Camp, WV, Donna White of Ballard, WV, Darlene “Frostie” Heath of Ballard, WV, and Rosa Christensen of Lindside, WV; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM on Thursday, September 18, 2025, at the Broyles-Shrewsbury Funeral Home in Peterstown, WV, with Pastor Dave Spencer officiating. Burial will follow at the Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery in Red Sulphur Springs, WV. Visitation will be held from 1:00PM until time of services on Thursday at the funeral home.
