Heritage Park Stream and Wetland Survey: March 24

Beginning Monday, March 24 through Friday, April 4, visitors to Heritage Park may see crews from Wetlands Studies and Solutions surveying the park’s streams and wetlands. The Town of Blacksburg, with funding support from the Virginia Environmental Endowment, is exploring options to restore the wetlands in this area. The first step in this process is to survey the area and identify the historic extent of the original wetland.
As part of this work, visitors to the park may see physical evidence of the surveys being completed, such as work crews, evidence of soil sampling, survey stakes with colored tape, and colored flags.
Questions: Please contact Will Lattea, Town of Blacksburg Energy & Environmental Specialist at 540.443.1618, or Dean Crane, Director of Blacksburg Parks and Recreation at 540.443.1101.
