LewisGale Ribboncutting for new ER

Officials with LewisGale Hospital Montgomery hosted a ribboncutting ceremony for the new LewisGale Hospital Montgomery Christiansburg ER, our newest freestanding emergency room located at 1205 West Main Street, Christiansburg, VA.

“As the greater New River Valley community continues to expand, the need for 24/7 emergency care close to where people live and work is paramount,” said Lauren Dudley, LewisGale Hospital Montgomery chief executive officer. “We are excited to establish another access point for all those in need of emergency medical care.”

The nearly 10,000-square-foot freestanding emergency room will be fully staffed, including board-certified emergency room physicians and nurses, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. It will provide the same services as an emergency room that is housed within the hospital.

Christiansburg ER will be the third freestanding ER in Southwest Virginia, joining Cave Spring ER and Blue Hills ER. Hiring is set to begin in early 2024.
