Cox, Leland Scott

Cox, Leland ScottLeland Scott Cox was conceived with intention, thought, & love on April 9th, 2024, as an extension of the love his parents share. The discovery of his existence brought an unimaginable joy & happiness into his parent’s lives & his entire family.

He was celebrated everyday for 7 months. Leland danced with his parents. He felt warmth and happiness. His 3D ultra sound showed him smiling & smirking as he hid bashfully & playfully. Leland loved the sound of music. He loved feeling his mother paint & sing. He loved the taste of oatmeal & he loved playing with his daddy’s hands. He enjoyed being rocked to sleep & sprung to life at the sound of his daddy’s voice. Every night for 7 months his parents spoke to him, read to him, & watched him kick and tumble. He had a mother who was always laughing & happy, especially in the presence of his father.

During his short time, he knew nothing but love & joy from a family that so eagerly awaited his arrival.

Leland made his heavenly journey on Tuesday October 22 for reasons we may never know or understand.

He was born on October 23rd at 1:38pm in Wytheville community hospital. He weighed 3lbs 3.8oz & was 17 inches tall. He was more than anyone could’ve ever anticipated, he was beautifully crafted in every way imaginable.

Leland filled the hearts of everyone who knew him. His loss & presence has left a lasting impact. We find peace, solace & comfort in knowing that he has been granted eternal life in the kingdom of heaven alongside our lord & savior, Jesus Christ & that he is not alone. He is in loving hands next to his Grandpa, Scott Taylor & his uncle, Rusty Barnett.

As we cannot speak with certainty what our boy was truly destined to be like, we spent everyday imagining what traits our child had inherited. What we believe is this.

Leland was the sweetest, most gentle & loving soul. He loved to laugh and make those around him laugh. He had a smile that would’ve lit any room with the cutest, most charming dimples. Our boy would’ve loved all of the simple beauty’s of the world such as the trees, the sky, the grass and the songs of the birds above him. He would’ve been a creative spirit with a passion for arts & music just as his parents shared. Full of love, passion, energy, kindness & spirit.

We look forward to the day to see you again sweet boy.
