Cochran, Janice Surface

Janice B. Cochran died residing at Heritage Hall, Rich Creek on October 20, 2024. Janice was born June 24, 1946, in Blacksburg Virginia, the daughter of Hubert V. and Christine (Orange) Surface.

In addition to her parents, Janice was preceded in death by her husband, Rufus C. Cochran; her sister, Joe Ann Criner; and her brother, George Surface. Surviving are sons Rufus C. Cochran, Jr. and his wife Marci of Anderson Indiana, and Matthew A. Cochran and his partner Ernestine of Kentucky; daughter Marquise L Francis and her husband Dale of Pearisburg Virginia; five grandchildren, Rufus C. Cochran III, Lewis K. Cochran, Griffin E. Spears, Taylor Mitchell, and Alekzandr Cochran; brother Benny Surface of Christiansburg Virginia and many nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 3:00 pm on Friday, November 1st at Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery in Dublin, Virginia. Those who wish to remember Janice may send any sentiments to her family at 774 Bear Springs Rd. Pearisburg, VA 24134.
