Lafon, Norma Jane

Norma Jane Lafon 82, of Pearisburg, VA passed peacefully from this life and entered the gates of Heaven on October 19, 2024. Jane was born on September 17, 1942, and was a daughter of the late Frank Elliott Lafon and Eunice Lafon.

Jane was a graduate of Pearisburg High School and a member of Pembroke Methodist Church. She was retired from Celanese Corporation in Narrows, where she worked for 37 years. Her job was a big part of her life. She helped many through her job and made many long-time friends. Jane always tried to help anybody in any way that she could. She loved spending time with her family and her pets.

Left to cherish her memory are her brother Jerry (Betty) Lafon and sister Barbara (Gerald) Millirons. Her nieces, Sherri (Ellis) Perkins, Susan (Phillip) Ore, Mechelle Lafon, Teresa (Randall) Westbrook, Bethany (Elias) Dancey and Amanda (Dean) Perdue. She also has many loving great nieces, nephews and great-great nephews and a special friend from her time at Heritage Hall, Pauline Martin. Jane will be missed by all who knew her. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff of Heritage Hall for their love and care for Jane during her time there.

A graveside service will be conducted Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at 1pm at Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg, with Pastor Kathy Higgs officiating. The family is being served by Givens Funeral Home in Pearisburg, (540) 921-1650; online at givensfuneralhome.com.
