Albert, Ronnie Merl

Ronnie Merl Albert, 73, of Poplar Hill, VA, passed away Sunday, October 6, 2024. He was born April 22, 1951, in Bland, VA, the son of the late Darl & Marie Albert.

Ronnie lived his life in service to his community. He was a deputy with the Giles County Sheriff’s Department and retired from the Virginia Department of Corrections.

He was an avid hunter and gun expert. He loved to fish and traveled many places to do so.

Ronnie loved to help his neighbors and community. He loved his family and many friends.

Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents, Darl Raburn & Macil Marie Orey Albert, his twin brother & sister-in-law, Donnie & Sharon Albert, and his son, Michael Albert.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 28 years, Pauline Pauley Albert; his special cousin who he saw as his son, Matt Albert; his step-sons, Dave Thomas and Lonnie & Detria Thomas; his grandchild, Katlin Albert; his step-grandchildren, Austin & Hannah Thomas, Alex, Asha and Shiloh Thomas, Hunter and Lacy Thomas and Triston Richmond; two step-great-granddaughters; his adopted daughter, Charmin Toler; his special niece and nephew, Jennifer Woods and Dennis Albert; a special aunt & uncle, Juanita & Bobby Brandau; and several special friends and extended family members.

Per his wishes, he will be cremated. A memorial of his life will be held at A. Vest & Sons Funeral Home Chapel, White Gate, on Thursday, October 10, 2024 at 6:00 P.M. with Charles Henderson and Josephine Phillips officiating. The family will receive guests from 5:00P.M. until 6:00 P.M.
