Harvey, Buster Lee

Buster Lee Harvey, age 88, passed away on Monday, August 26, 2024, at the Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke, VA. Born October 27, 1935, in Rock Camp, WV, he was the son of the late Newman Alton Harvey and Elizabeth Eula Thornton Harvey.

Buster worked as a maintenance supervisor until his retirement at Celanese in Narrows, VA. He loved the Lord and was a very involved member of the Full Gospel Assembly Church in Lindside, WV. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, and friend who will be missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Barry Harvey.

Additionally, he was preceded in death by siblings, Mark Harvey, Stanford Harvey, Gene Harvey, Elwin Harvey, Charles Harvey, Lillian Harvey, Betty Louise Harvey, and Janie Harvey; and several brothers and sisters in law.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 68 years, Juanita Mann Harvey; his children, Alvin Harvey (Brenda), Melvin Harvey (Melina), Ronnie Harvey (Julie), Donnie Harvey (Betty), and Vickey Reed (Brad); daughter in law, Renee Harvey; siblings, Raymond Harvey, Carl Harvey, Evalee Mann, Dorothy Vogle, Geneva Stanley, and June Mullins; and 18 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild. Additionally, Buster was loved by many extended family, friends, nephews, nieces, neighbors, and church family who will cherish his memory.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM on Thursday, August 29, 2024, at the Broyles-Shrewsbury Funeral Home in Peterstown, WV, with Pastor Joey Rowe officiating. Burial will follow at the Keaton Cemetery in Greenville, WV, with Buster’s grandsons serving as pallbearers.

Visitation will be held from 1:00PM until time of services on Thursday at the funeral home.
