H. James “Jim” Akers, Jr., of Roanoke, died peacefully on Monday, July 15, 2024.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth Ann Dulaney Akers; sons, James Mark Akers (Debbie) and Terence Alan Akers (Pat); daughter, Molly Ann Akers Thomas (Kenny); grandson, James Kenneth Thomas.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 19, 2024 at Jacksonville Cemetery, Floyd, Virginia with Pastor Roy Turpin officiating.
