Jarels, Walter Edward

Walter Edward Jarels, age 89, of Blacksburg died, Sunday, January 7, 2024. He was born in Montgomery County, Va. on May 14, 1934 to the late Henry Lee and Clydia Thompson Jarels.

He was also preceded in death by his wife, Frances Smith Jarels, his son, Marvin Edward Jarels, brothers, Paul, Herman, Eugene, George, Leslie, Marshall Jarels, a sister, Lucille Vaught.

He was a longtime member of Sunnyside Pentecostal Holiness Church.

He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Louise and Jimmy Mattox, Joyce and Mike Randall, Enola and Donald Hixon, daughter-in-law, Nadean Jarels, grandchildren, Melissa, Kayla, Jameson, William, Melanie, Adam, Andrea, Walter, Amanda, Chris, Kevin, fourteen great-grandchildren, brother and sister-in-law, Bruce and Joyce Jarels, sister, Kathy Hodge.

Funeral Services will be conducted Thursday, January 11, 2024 at 11:00 am in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with the Minister Don Leonard and Pastor Gary Dunford officiating. Interment will follow in the Roselawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 10-11:00 am prior to the service at McCoy Funeral Home 150 Country Club Dr. SW, Blacksburg.
