Bond, Sheila Ballard

Shelia Anne Ballard Bond, age 64, of Christiansburg, VA went home to be with the Lord on Monday, January 1, 2024. She was born on February 11, 1959 to the late L.G. Snider, Jr. and Lois French Snider.

Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by two husbands, Tommy Bond and John Ballard, a stillborn brother, and a sister, Melissa Simmers.

She is survived by; son, Benjamin Isaiah Ballard and his wife Mallory Ballard; grandchildren, Isaiah and Lexi; sister, Yvonne Laffoon; nieces, A. Renee Stanley (Trevor) and Amanda Simmers, and brother-in-law Steve Simmers.

Shelia was a former LPN at English Meadows for many years. She loved spending time with family and especially her grandson. She was very passionate about her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and loved to sing His praises. In addition to singing, she enjoyed reading and seeing God’s beautiful handiwork in nature and the mountains around her.

The family will receive friends from 4pm – 6pm on Tuesday, January 9th. The funeral service will be held directly after at Horne Funeral Home Chapel at 6pm, officiated by Rev. Kenneth Wells.
