Elliston police chase ends in suicide
According to Virginia State Police, Montgomery County deputies responded to a breaking and entering call in the area of Crozier Court. When deputies tried to speak with a “suspicious male” walking on Crozier Court in Montgomery County on Sunday, he ran behind a residence in the area and a foot chase ensued.
Police said the man crossed onto East Montgomery High School property, and once deputies caught up to him, the man pulled out a firearm and fired a single shot. According to Brian Wright of the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, the man shot himself.
Deputies attempted life-saving measures, but the man died.
Police said there is no evidence that officers shot their firearms.
The man’s body has been taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for identification, Sgt. Garletts said.
The gun was recovered at the scene, and no deputies were injured. The investigation is ongoing, according to state police.

I know this has been almost a year ago.. but I also know that grief is a crazy thing… I just wanted you to know that some of us do still pray for your strength. I hope that you may be able to speak about your grandson and now, instead of tears, Im hoping for smiles and laughter as you remember him. ♡
