Grand Screen coming to Blacksburg!
Following a pandemic year, the Big Screen is finally back, and at B&B Theatres in Blacksburg, Virginia….it’s coming back BIGGER, BRIGHTER, and BETTER than ever.
The 11-screen location was acquired by B&B Theatres in Fall of 2020, and the company is now thrilled to announce the upcoming installation of its signature Premium Large Format (PLF) GRAND SCREEN in the facility’s largest auditorium and former IMAX. The presentation will be unparalleled in size and scope and will be dramatically further enhanced and improved by the addition of some exclusive supplements.
But the audio has to keep pace with the picture! And it will do just that with the addition of DTS:X immersive digital surround sound, an unbelievably flexible audio codec that creates a multi-dimensional sound that moves around audiences like it would in real life!
The spectacle of the GRAND SCREEN is further increased with the incorporation of dive lighting, allowing for custom lighting and ambiance specific to particular films or themes. Top Gun: Maverick onscreen? Walk into a theater flooded with red, white, and blue light. Retro showing of Pretty in Pink? Dive lighting can douse the auditorium in a pink floral hue…all to make the magic of the movies that much more special and memorable.
But we’re just getting warmed up….literally!
B&B Theatres will also be installing heated, electric, leather recliners in the GRAND SCREEN, providing guests with comfort, luxury, and convenience exclusive to the Blacksburg 11. With the touch of a button, guests can customize reclining and heating options, accommodating all preferences and ensuring both optimal sightlines and optimal coziness!
Last but not least, B&B Theatres will relocate the upstairs arcade into newly designed main level gaming space, complete with a updated modern look and tons of new games for the whole family to enjoy.
