9/25-29: Relief Drive for Hurricane Victims

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, with the support of the Montgomery County Board of Supervisors, are pleased to announce another relief drive for hurricane victims in Texas and Florida. We were overwhelmed by the donations from our citizens last time and hope to see the same generosity again, as the clean-up and recovery process continues.

We cannot thank our community partners enough for helping to make this a reality. Blue Ridge Church and Volvo New River Valley Assembly Plant have both stepped forward and answered the call to help us again. We will again be utilizing Hearts with Hands Disaster Relief based in Asheville, NC as our distribution partner as they continue to send trucks each day to Florida and Texas.

Below is a flyer with detailed information regarding what items we will be collecting this time-ONLY THE ITEMS LISTED WILL BE ACCEPTED! We will begin packing the trailer at the Sheriff’s Office today, September 25, from 9am until 7pm. We will continue with this daily schedule through at least Friday (9/29).

Additionally, each trip Hearts with Hands Disaster Relief makes costs approximately $2700 in fuel and they are requesting if you can’t give physical items to please consider donating to offset fuel costs at: www.heartswithhands.org
