8/19: Floyd Tractor Fun Run

For a decade now Floyd VA has played host to the Floyd County Tractor Fun Run and has grown to be a favorite of tractor owners all over the state. So make plans to join us Saturday, August 19th, 2017 for a fun-filled journey across the heart of Floyd County This one-day trip will allow all you tractor owners the opportunity to take in the beautiful countryside while showing off their passion for tractors. This year’s ride promises to be full of good times, good food, good fellowship, good music and we even have a couple of awesome prizes. During the Registration, while everyone is arriving and getting themselves registered, we have the trackless train for the little guys. We also have two bouncing toys. Coffee and donuts are also available. Ms Minnie and her crew will be busy preparing lunch so when we get to the West Farm we will be able to enjoy good lunch. After lunch, there will be plenty of time for fellowship and to share your tractor stories and maybe even brag a little.

The event has raised over $38,000 through the years for mostly children-oriented causes. Contributions have also been made to the Women’s Resource Center, Young Life and cancer research. This year, three local children are being honored. Gavin Cox, son of Zachary and Courtney Cox, is the youngest. He was born on April 22, 2017 with only one kidney and an imperforate anus. He has had 1 of 3 surgeries that will be required. Hayden Conner, son of David and Melinda Conner, was diagnosed earlier this year with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma Stage 2. He has just completed 9 weeks of chemotherapy and is doing well. Cole Dulaney, son of Will and Amanda Dulaney, became sick in May with what was later diagnosed as a very rare virus called Shiga-Toxin 2 with E-coli, usually found in third world countries. He underwent 3 surgeries and had an extensive stay in hospitals, from which he was released on June 10. He is currently being treated for high blood pressure and is working to regain full kidney function.
