7/27&28: Maggie Gallery Open House

The Maggie Gallery will be hosting its first open house on Friday July 27th and Saturday July 28th. Light refreshments will be provided on Friday afternoon. Music will be provided by Cindy and Pete Howe accompanied by local musician Bernie Covney. The acoustical trio will be performing on the porch of The Maggie if weather permits. Visitors will be able to meet artists whose work is exhibited in The Maggie.

The Maggie Gallery is currently open Thursday thru Sunday and displays the artwork of 12 artists using a variety of mediums including oils, watercolor, pen and ink, alcohol ink, acrylics, and wood sculptures.
In addition to the gallery section, The Maggie offers its customers a gift shop of items created not only by its current artists but also beautifully, hand crafted jewelry created by Jeaneane McKinnon and Pottery by Hannah Martin. In addition to space used for exhibiting art, a large portion of the gallery is dedicated to the frame shop where customers can bring their framing needs to Ron and Lenny. The frame shop displays a large variety of frame moldings for customers to select from.

Owners, Ron Campbell and his wife Lenny, opened the doors of The Maggie for business on May 5th after an extensive 5 month renovation of the old Dalton home by Bobby Gardner Sr. with the assistance of a host of Floyd professionals, many of which are members of the Chamber. “We hope that The Maggie Gallery will be a destination for travelers to Floyd as well as a full service business for art, gifts and custom framing,” said Ron.
