6/14: Roam the Huck during the Mountains of Music Homecoming

Bike Ride set for the Huckleberry Trail during the fifth Annual Mountains of Music Homecoming. Come ride along a guided bicycle tour along the Huckleberry Trail on Friday, June 14 at 5:30 p.m.

RIDE Solutions and Montgomery County Regional Tourism will host this family-friendly guided tour along the trail while introducing history about Blacksburg and Christiansburg, which have been connected by the trail since 1904. The tour distance is two miles starting at the Miller Street/Blacksburg Library trailhead at 5:30 p.m. The ride, which extends outward to the Corporate Research Center, will end around 7:30 p.m. The tour is free and open to the public. Bicycle helmets are required to be worn by all riders.

This event is part of the Mountains of Music Homecoming week produced by the Crooked Road organization, and promoted locally by the Montgomery County Regional Tourism Office. Information cards for both the guided tour and ongoing self-guided tours are available at the Blacksburg Library at 200 Miller St. in Blacksburg and the Christiansburg Recreation Center at 1600 N. Franklin St. The information card includes a link to the online tour map developed by RIDE Solutions. There are trailheads to the Huckleberry Trail at both locations.

Riders may bring their own bikes or reserve a bike in advance from the local bike-sharing program, ROAM NRV. The organization has made a limited number free of charge for the tour. Reservations are on a first come, first served basis by contacting cat@ridegotcha.com. There will be promotional giveaways available for tour participants.
