5/9: Blacksburg Newcomers Club

Our next general meeting (and the last before September) is just around the corner. Please join us on Tuesday, May 9th, at 9:00 am (social time and refreshments) at Luther Memorial Fellowship Hall, 600 Prices Fork Rd, Blacksburg. All residents of the New River Valley are welcome, and no fee is charged.

This month’s Community Outreach speaker is Karen Nelson, Associate Director of Development at Warm Hearth Foundation. She will speak about the Micah’s Personal Care program and the needs of participating seniors.

Our featured speaker will be Rudi Woykowski, owner of Appalachian Wildlife Management. He will speak to us about how we can help the wildlife in our area and how he rescues injured wildlife – turtles, owls, birds of prey, and many more. This will be an exciting program!
