A volunteer workday will be held at Chantilly Farm in Floyd on Saturday, May 5 from 9am until 5pm.

The team at Chantilly Farm is excited to make everything “just right” before the Bluegrass & BBQ Festival kicks off the venue’s event season on Memorial Day weekend. A lot of projects are underway at the farm including new hiking and biking trails, infrastructure improvements, playground equipment for younger guests, new offices spaces and more.

Audrey Pascoe, local resident and long time volunteer at Chantilly Farm, enjoys a special project during last year's volunteer day.

Volunteers will work on a variety of beautification projects to prepare the venue for its upcoming events season. Participants will be treated to a volunteer appreciation lunch and will have the chance to connect with other volunteers who work on events at the farm throughout the year. As part of the venue’s “Friends of Chantilly” program, these volunteer hours count toward event tickets and/or other discounts and benefits.

“We offer some great perks to those who volunteer throughout the year including free event passes, free or reduced-priced camping and facility rentals, volunteer appreciation activities and more”, says Erin Lechler, project manager at Chantilly Farm.

Those interested in volunteering for the work day or other upcoming events are encouraged to email chantillyfarm@gmail.com or call (540)808-4984. In the case of extreme weather, the workday will be postponed to May 12, 2018 from 9:00am to 5:00pm.
