4/27: Wine & Artisans Festival
Hickok Street in Downtown Christiansburg will transform into an artist’s walk on Friday, April 27 from 5-9 pm. Downtown Christiansburg, Incorporated (DCI) is hosting its third annual Wine and Artisans festival, and invites the community to get downtown and join in on the fun!
“We’ve really got something for everyone at this event” says Justin Sanders, DCI’s President. Local artisans, craftspersons, and other arts vendors will be set up to sell their wares throughout the festival, as will local museum and educational institutions, who will set up to discuss their upcoming programming and events.
Two local wineries, Beliveau Estate and New River Winery, will also be providing wine tastings and sales throughout the event. Joining the wineries are Till and Grill food truck and Mann’s Sausage Company, anchoring the festival’s food lineup.
Sanders also highlighted other activities, emphasizing the family oriented nature of the event. “We really encourage parents to bring their children to the event, as we have access to the playground and have created a ‘Junior Artists’ area for kids to play games, draw and color, and create their own unique art,” Sanders said.
Students from Christiansburg High School’s Theatre Department will be presenting one act plays to festival patrons throughout the event and local acoustical artists are also scheduled to perform, providing entertainment for all ages.
Entry to the festival is free, meaning visitors pay only for what they eat, drink, or purchase from vendors. More information about the festival can be found on the Downtown Christiansburg, Incorporated Facebook page.
