4/23: Broomin’ & Bloomin’
Citizens and social, civic and church groups are invited to participate in this annual litter pick-up event. Volunteers are needed to help clean up roadsides, parks, streams, school grounds and other public properties.
Why is Broomin’ and Bloomin’ so important?
Not only is it an excellent opportunity to protect our local environment, but it’s also a way to promote community pride and goodwill and help ensure that Montgomery County will be sustainable for generations to come.
Every bag of trash collected makes a real difference! Volunteers pick up a ton–literally–of trash each year and have helped to clean hundreds of miles of land in the county.
Also, this event is a part of the public participation efforts of our local Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) Programs in Montgomery County, Blacksburg, Christiansburg, and Virginia Tech.
