Mountain Sweetness returns to The Barn at Chantilly Farm on Saturday, February 10 from 11am until 3pm. This second annual event allows participants to browse a variety of local vendors offering great gifts for that special someone on your Valentine’s Day shopping list while sampling a wide variety of delicious chocolates and other confections made by local businesses.

Organized by Joni Underwood of Hillbilly Goodies in Floyd, the event will build on the success of the first Mountain Sweetness event which drew several hundred people in early 2017.

“We were very encouraged by the great turnout and feedback that we received from our very first event last year,” said Underwood. “We’re looking forward to taking that feedback and creating an even better event this time around including the participation of even more local businesses.”

Admission to the event is free. However, guests have the option to purchase $1.00 tasting tickets. Each tasting ticket can be redeemed at the vendor’s booth to sample that vendor’s featured treat. Bowls of chili and cornbread will also be available for purchase during the event.

The sweets are all made by local businesses that include Hillbilly Goodies, Cocoa Mia, Floyd Country Store, Blue Ridge Cafe, Confection Shenanigans and more.
