11/16: Joy Powers Congressional Campaign Launch

Joy Powers, a fourth-generation Southwest Virginia farmer, small business leader, and community advocate, will officially announce her candidacy for the U.S. House of Representatives in Virginia’s 9th Congressional District at a launch event this Sunday, November 16, at 4:00 PM at the Blacksburg Community Center.

Powers will outline her congressional “HOME Plan,” a comprehensive rural policy blueprint shaped through months of listening sessions and community conversations across the Fighting Ninth. Her remarks will focus on restoring trust, strengthening local economies, and ensuring Southwest Virginia has a representative who shows up and delivers.

Delegate-elect Lily Franklin and former Congressional candidate Karen Baker will also speak at the event.
