10/28: A Smithfield Hallowe’en

Celebrate the arrival of Fall through the sights, sounds and tastes of the season at A Smithfield Hallowe’en!

Enjoy cemetery tours, paint rocks to add on to our Rock Caterpillar, and hunt for the perfect pumpkin in the Smithfield Pumpkin Patch. The pumpkin patch and painting is $10 for the first pumpkin, and $5 for each additional pumpkin!

Stop by Cole Art USA who will provide face painting. Other fun activities include the Halloween costume contest sponsored by NRV Historical Costume Society, and our first annual Sweets at Smithfield. Our dessert contest is for pumpkin lovers of all ages! Enter a dessert that features pumpkin, and be in the running for some fun prizes sponsored by Historic Smithfield, Zeppoli’s and Downtown Blacksburg Inc.!

If you don’t want to enter the contest, but want to taste the goodies, you are more than welcome to be a dessert taster! You’ll be able to vote for the People’s Choice category!

Visit Sycamore Snacks, Wang Foods, and Blue Ridge Cider Doughnuts for some delicious food, drinks, and sweet treats.

Do some early Christmas shopping with our artisan vendors at our Vendor Market! We will have wooden and leather goods, seasonal wreaths, handmade cards, resin art, tumblers and mugs, crocheted items, and so many more!

Learn a bit of history while onsite with a visit to our Forge to watch a historic blacksmith demonstration and round out your visit with a trip to the Smithfield manor house for a Trick-or-Treat house tour!

$10/adult and $5/child ages 6-13 grants admission to the site. Free for sustaining donors. Kids under 5 are free.
