10/26: Getting Scary on the HuckleberryCome join the Town of Christiansburg at the Christiansburg Recreation Center on Oct. 26 for our annual Getting Scary on the Huckleberry event!
The event kicks off with a Kid’s Fun Run beginning at 8:45 a.m. It is FREE and open to ages 10 and under (please preregister).

Immediately following the Kid’s Fun Run is the 5K Run/Walk. Registration for the 5K is $30 and open to ages 9 and older. Race-day registration is allowed, but we strongly encourage you to register before the day of the race.

This event also includes a Truck or Treat from 9-11:30 a.m. Trucks from Christiansburg Fire, Police, Public Works, EMS and others will be stationed at the Recreation Center for kids (and kids at heart) to look at and touch. Admission to Truck or Treat is FREE, and participating organizations will be handing out candy.

No animals are permitted in the race. Strollers must start at the back. Awards will be given to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishers. Medals will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishers in each age group. Don’t forget your costumes because there will be awards given for those, too!

As an added bonus, Christiansburg Parks and Recreation staff will be cooking up their famous pumpkin pancakes for race participants!
