10/14-15: Newbern Fall Festival
The Newbern Volunteer Fire Department presents the 52nd Annual Newbern Fall Festival on Saturday, October 14, 2023 from 8:00 AM until 5:00 PM and Sunday, October 15, 2023 from 10:00 AM until 4:00 PM.
The annual festival will provide fun and interests for all ages and is an enjoyable, easy-going day for the whole family. Enjoy over 125 vendors setup along the one-mile stretch of Historic Downtown Newbern.
Featuring lots of vendors, activities & entertainment including:
• Beautiful Arts & Crafts
• Awesome Fire Trucks at the Fire Station
• Delicious Food & Beverage Vendors
• Live Music
• Fellowship, friends & much more!
The Wilderness Road Regional Museum will be hosting many activities during the Fall Festival including living history, apple butter making, apple cider pressing demonstrations, corn shelling, corn shuck doll making, bees wax candle making, along with our Annual Beans & Cornbread fundraiser, fresh honey, sarsaparilla, and baked goods sale. We will have folk dancing from Westover Ballet on Saturday and Virginia Hollow followed by the Marshall Page Band on Sunday. Museum activities will be on the main museum grounds, the old Courthouse Square and at the Do-Better Cottage.
Admission is free. Parking is $2.00 per vehicle to support the Newbern Volunteer Fire Department.
Parking will be available at each end of the town of Newbern, at the Farris Dairy and Tabor Field, and behind the Wilderness Road Regional Museum in the middle of town.
Note: Traffic will be shut down to one lane through Newbern during the festival, only flowing from the Community Center to the Post Office.
The event is rain or shine.
Historic Newbern, VA is located off of Interstate 81 at Exit 98. Take a left on Route 100 toward Draper and pass the commercial area. Take a left on Hance Road to parking at the intersection with Wilderness Road. Parking can also be found on the other end of the village near the intersection of Newbern Road and Wilderness road.
