Alan Wesley Alouf died Monday, June 18, 2012, from complications of diabetes. He was born on October 14, 1963, son of Dr. Fred G. Alouf and Joan Barzyk Alouf. He was a graduate of Roanoke Catholic School. He attended Emory & Henry College. He worked as an electronics technician for Lee Hartman & Sons. He later opened Cuszan's Deli Restaurant in Christiansburg. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, his motorcycle and being with his friends and family. He is survived by his parents, Dr. Fred and Joan Alouf; his wife, Kimberly Buckner Alouf; his son, Austin Buckner Alouf,; his very special dog "Fritz"; his sister, Allison Alouf Riley and husband, James Richard Riley and nieces, Sarah and Rachael Riley; and sister, Amy Alouf Thies and husband, Dr. Steven David Thies and nieces, Elsa and Ainsley. He is also survived by his uncle, Dr. Donald R. Alouf; his father-in-law, Kenneth Buckner; sisters-in-law, Michelle and John Hyler and Amy and Daniel Robertson; nieces and nephews, Karley, Lauren and DJ, Corey, JT and Chris and great-nephews Jackson, Bentley and Peyton and many cousins and special friends. The family wishes to thank Dr. Stephen Alouf and Dr. Gregory Alouf for their dedicated brotherly love and support. We also wish to express our gratitude to Dr. Paul Dallas for his kind and compassionate care and also the ICU doctors and nurses at Roanoke Memorial Hospital. A mass of the Resurrection will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, June 21, 2012, at St. Andrews Catholic Church, with the Rev. Msgr. Thomas G. Miller officiating. Interment to follow at St. Andrews Diocesan Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Oakey's South Chapel from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 20, 2012, and at the chapel of St. Andrew's Catholic Church on Thursday, June 21, 2012, from noon to 1 p.m. Memorials may be made to St. Andrew's Catholic Church, 631 North Jefferson St., Roanoke, VA 24016.
