Mobile developer Atomic Axis to open Blacksburg office, create 30 jobs

atomic-axisAtomic Axis, a mobile solutions company based in Austin, TX., announced today that it is establishing an office in Blacksburg, Va. The company’s new satellite office, which will be located at TechPad in downtown Blacksburg, will initially be targeted iOS development and creative roles. Atomic Axis’ decision to locate an office in Blacksburg is anticipated to result in the creation of 30 new jobs in Montgomery County over the next three years.

Gluten-free Baker and Market to Open

Blacksburg Social Marketing Company Expansion

Heyo-3Governor Bob McDonnell announced today that Heyo, formerly known as Lujure Media Inc., a fast-growing social media company, will invest $100,000 to expand its operation in the Town of Blacksburg in Montgomery County. The company helps businesses drag and drop together Facebook fan pages, mobile apps, and websites. The expansion is anticipated to create 50 new jobs over the next two years.

Shelter Alternatives Wins Green Innovation Award

sa green innovation pic2The Virginia Sustainable Building Network announced the winners of their 2012 Green Innovation Awards this week and Shelter Alternatives, the Blacksburg based design-build firm, was among the winners. Shelter Alternatives was awarded the prestigious Single Family Residential Project of the Year Award for a home that they designed and built in Montgomery County. Project Supervisor Keelan Utzinger, who also designed the house, worked closely with the client to achieve an energy efficient and creative home.
