Rules

To post ads, you must live in the New River Valley of southwestern Virginia or the surrounding area. This ensures our readers that they will be dealing with local users only. Please do not post out of state ads on our site, they WILL be deleted. This is a family-friendly site, and any ads not in harmony with this policy will be deleted, no exceptions. Ad-loading (deleting your ad each day and re-posting it to get a front page position) will cause you to lose your ad posting privileges. Any users found doing this will be banned from posting ads.

You will receive an email notice 2 days before expiration in order to renew your ad. If you do not renew, the ad is gone and will have to be re-posted.

Please exercise caution and common sense when responding to ads. We try to police the ads to be sure they are posted by subscribers in the local area, but occasionally a clever ad posting will get past us. If you suspect the ad is a scam, please let us know immediately. We cannot guarantee the authenticity of any ad posted here in our free classifieds.

WARNING: Also know that there are scammers online who troll the web for classified ads. Most of these scams involve sending the seller more money than the asking price, with instructions to give the leftover amount to the person picking up the item. They send a cashiers check that later turns out to be phony...but by then your item is long gone, and the bank often comes after you as the depositor to make good on the fraudulent check. So BE GUARDED. Do not deal with someone from outside our geographic area, particularly if they offer a cashiers check or certified check from a non-local bank. Your best protection is a healthy skepticism. Deal with someone who can meet you in a public place, and who will pay in cash or through a reliable online escrow or payment service like PayPal where you have some protection.
